My favorite comic duo has always been Calvin and Hobbes.

Calvin’s quirky adventures alongside his mischievous stuffed tiger, Hobbes, tickle me on every level of my being.

And since we’re on the topic of toilet bowl humor, this…

LOL. I cannot look at these and not smile. Calvin’s untethered happiness is contagious. I love it.

Time to lighten up

What does toilet bowl humor have to do with losing weight?

This: You’ve got to lighten up to lighten up.

Yes, improving your health is a serious matter.

Yes, losing weight takes time.

Yes, it sucks to feel disappointed with your own body.

Yes, yes, yes…

AND…

…losing weight can be a fun experience.

In fact, it must.

Dale Carnegie said it best…

"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing."

Think about the last time you were serious about a diet. Was it fun?

Probably not.

Throughout this Touchstone Training series, I’ve been sharing some of the key principles we teach inside our mentor-guided weight loss program.

One of those principles is to design fun into your journey. If you don’t enjoy the process, you’ll never stick with it.

And sticking with it is the name of the game. Remember? Consistent, small steps, over time is how to get what you want.

Fun is a leading indicator of future success

For the best results reaching your desired weight goals, don't just hope that fun comes along. Plan for it. Draw it into your map.

After all, you are the map-maker.

Just sayin’.

Love,

Christy Brennand
